Getting to know us

After opening in 2012 the Better Life PT Studio located in Kirrawee, has been serving professionals and tradies in their need to feel stronger, move better pain free and be healthier with their bodies so they can get through the day and enjoy life.

Using a semi-private training format has proven to be a great balance of trainer and client utilising all the benefits of individualised and specific training with the added social element to keep things motivated and fun.

Specializing in functional strength conditioning and movement for everyday and work related tasks we're helping people feel years younger with their new found inner strength and mobility.

Our Philosophy : A Better Quality of Life

Health is a balance of Stress and Recovery.

Balancing life has been one of people's eternal struggles for everyone, depending on your dreams and ambitions.

Here at Better Life PT Studio we focus on getting your body and mind in a state of equilibrium and teaching you how to manage it so it stays there most of the time. While your body and mind is in this state it will function at it optimal capacity so you care able to carry out all your daily need with ease, and if anything arises unexpectedly, as it always does, you can have the confidence that you will be able to handle it.

Our Training model is based off a relative need to perform all your daily tasks and more. We call this "Functional Strength Training".

We use the term "functional" as a based on the ability to be able to control the movements of the body and use them in the most optimal way as per its design. So in this regard movement quality is a high priority in any sort of training program as it helps re-establish your body awareness on how it performs its tasks. It's been shown that with just correcting this skill of movement component all other areas like strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, improves along with it.

How Our System Works

Assessment

  • This is a two part process. Part 1 is where we get you to tell us a little about yourself, like what you’re here and what you really want to get out of your experience with us.
  • This happens with a sit down and chat an also with you filling out a questionnaire.
  • Part 2 is a made up of body measurements and a custom movement and skill fitness assessment to determine which areas to focus on and at what intensity.

Personalised Programming

  • This is the part where you can tell good trainers apart. Based on all the gathered results taken from the assessments and carefully using all the trainers current knowledge about exercise and movement science, a program designed just for you will be born.

Weekly PT Sessions

  • This area is determined on many things. Time, budget, needs, goals, recovery ability and level of exercise experience.

Constant Review & Accountability

  • With every moment you are training in the studio under the supervision of your highly qualified coach you will be under constant review of your progress, current level of skill and many more attributes that pertain to your training, and depending on your goals you will be held accountable to the level of success that you accomplish with whatever task or learning skill you will have decided to do outside of the studio at that time.

My Story

What inspired me to become a fitness professional?

When I was younger I always struggled to keep up with the other kids at soccer, in school and even my friends when I came to do physical activity. As I got older I discovered the gym and how lifting these metal bars were going to make my life easier and help me keep up with doing the things I wanted to do. After following some programs I got from reading articles and magazines about training and exercises I started to plateau in my training and developed little niggles and uncomfortable feelings in my muscles and joints.

Out of high school now and into the workforce I found I hard to settle down into any profession so I changed career paths every year or so until I found myself a job sitting behind a desk all day drinking 6+ coffees and not feeling well. Still not satisfied with my current job I decided to take small course in fitness and coaching. I was overwhelmed with the knowledge and study I found myself in but I did not let this deter me as I was loving the new challenge and felt excited with all the practical information I could use and implement into my training.

My plateaus broke and I was on a steady progression again, it felt really good to get complements from family and friends and I was getting asked advice from everyone about how they could improve their health and if I could train them as well.

After success in myself and with coaching I decided to leave my job and devote myself fully into helping people get stronger, move better pain free and feel great about themselves and I will continue to do so for as long as I can.

Assess, Correct, Re-assess, Strengthen

By following these steps in order, you will be able to realign your body to function optimally. To have optimum functional mobility is to rid the body of imbalances that create stress on the muscles and joints of the body. Once the imbalances are removed you will notice the change on how your body feels. Pain is the first thing to reduce or even disappear, your movements use less energy, feel easier and with less effort, your energy levels feel increased but that is just leftover energy not being taxed buy the rest of the body. The main thing is you feel more relaxed stress free and happier, and don't we all want that.

  • Fully equipped with all your exercise needs with a bathroom, change room and shower area, feel the comfort of working out in your very own personal gym and never feel shy or intimidated again.
  • Making changes to your health and lifestyle and stepping to a realm that you have never been in before can be scary at times especially if you feel there are a lot of people staring at you. With something this important you don't have time or energy to waste on non-helpful thoughts that could hinder your progress or stop you completely.
  • That's why being able to do what you need in a comfortable, private and spacious area you and devote more energy into what really matters, AND THAT'S YOU.
  • There is nothing more superior to your basic functional strength training then the classic Barbells, Dumbbells, Kettle bells, and also to aid us in some areas the classics can't take us, we now have some great cable and suspension strap equipment that adds a lot to our programing.
